Can the drawing for the competition be developed in any technique?

• Yes, children are not limited in their imagination. The drawing must be prepared on a plane, preferably in A4 format. Children can freely choose the technique in which to prepare a drawing - with pencils, felt-tip pens, crayons, gouache or water colours, appliqués, etc.

Is it necessary to write the children’s names and surnames on the drawing?

• No, the competition rules state that it is forbidden to write children’s names and surnames on the drawing. Please note that any information written on the drawing will be publicly available at the time of voting, so the child’s last name is not allowed on it. If it is necessary to indicate the child’s name and/or surname for the purpose of identifying the drawing in the educational institution, please write it on the other side of the drawing.

Should the faces of the authors of the drawing be visible in the photo?

• According to the requirements of the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation of the European Union), the faces of the authors must not be visible in the photo of the drawing. Photos showing the authors’ faces will not be approved for publication.

How to better prepare a drawing?

• The organizers of the competition recommend that all drawings are scanned, because in this way a correct representation of the drawing will be ensured, besides, scanned drawings look more attractive during voting. In case the drawing cannot be scanned, it must be photographed. In order for the photo of the drawing to be of high quality, we recommend taking it in a well-lit room, preferably in daylight, for example on a windowsill. It is important that shadows do not fall on the drawing and that it is not over-lit, so it is better to avoid direct sunlight on the drawing. It is preferable to take photos on a neutral background so that the drawing occupies the entire frame. Each photo must contain exactly one drawing. In order for the photo of the drawing to match the real drawing as accurately as possible, it is forbidden not to use filters for its processing.

To what extent is adult allowed to participate in elaboration of the drawing?

• The participation of teachers and nannies in the elaboration of the drawing is allowed only in the organization and control of the work process, for example in the form of recommendations and advice. Adults are not allowed to help draw or draw for the child.

What is the difference among group works, individual works and works of up to 5 authors?

• If the drawing is made by one child, it is an individual work. During registration, only one child is indicated as the author of the drawing – his/her name and surname, and age.
• If children make drawings, for example, in pairs, or if they are made by a part of a team (group) that does not exceed 5 children, it is submitted in the category “up to 5 authors”. In this case, the names and surnames of all authors, as well as their average age, are indicated when registering the drawing.
• The entire group of the educational institution or most of it participates in the group work. In this case, the name of the group is indicated as the author of the drawing, instead of the name and surname of each child, as well as the average age of the authors.
• All drawings that are not developed individually are evaluated as group works in the public vote.

Can one child be the author of several submitted works?

• Yes, an unlimited number of drawings can be sent from one author, a group of authors (1-5 authors) and a group of an educational institution.

How can one register at www.udensdiena.lv?

• Registration takes place in two stages: in the first stage, the representative of the educational institution group needs to fill in the registration form and create a profile at www.udensdiena.lv.In the registration form, it is necessary to indicate e-mail, name, surname, contact phone number, position in the educational institution (for example, teacher, nanny, methodologist, manager) and the region where the educational institution is located. The educational institution represented by the registered person, group number and/or name must be indicated. If the registered person represents several educational institutions, they can be added additionally. It is also necessary to create a password to connect to the cabinet created. Confirmation of registration will be sent to the e-mail address specified in the registration. In the second stage, i.e. after registration of the profile, it will be possible in the cabinet created to upload children's drawings.

In what format can the drawing be uploaded to the system?

• It is possible to upload a scanned or photographed drawing to the system in JPG, JPEG or PNG format. In case of successful upload, the drawing will appear in the field to the left of the author's data. It is recommended to upload no more than 5 drawings at a time.

What information about the author of the drawing needs to be specified? What of it will be seen in public?

• When uploading to the system a drawing created individually (1 author) or collectively (2 to 5 authors), it is necessary to indicate the name, surname and age of each author (or the average age of the authors). The following information is made public about each author of the drawing: name, initial of last name, age (or average age of authors), and name of educational institution.
• When uploading group work to the system (i.e. at least 6 authors, the entire group of an educational institution or most of it), it is necessary to indicate the name of the group and the average age of its pupils. In this case, the following information is made public: name of the group, average age, as well as the name of the educational institution.

What to do if the needed educational institution is not included in the list of educational institutions of the registration system?

• If the necessary educational institution is not available in the list of educational institutions of the registration system, please contact the competition organizers by e-mail udensdiena@venden.lv.

How can one check what works were submitted?

• The applicant (representative of the educational institution) can find out what drawings have been uploaded to the system in his cabinet on the website.

What to do if the drawing is uploaded in the system several times?

• If the drawing is uploaded in the system several times, it is possible to delete the redundant drawing in the cabinet of the applicant (representative of the educational institution). If at the time of deletion, the voting has already started and several versions of the drawing have received points, we recommend deleting the drawing with the lowest number of points. It is not possible to combine (sum up) or transfer the obtained points.

Can one edit the entered information about the drawing and its author’s data after saving?

• Yes, the entered information about the drawing and its author’s data can be edited in the office of the applicant (representative of the educational institution) after saving. Please note that after data editing, the drawing needs to be re-approved by the contest moderators. If a drawing is submitted for re-approval during the public voting stage, it will be deactivated until the completion of verification.

How long does one have to wait until the drawing is approved and published on www.udensdiena.lv?

• In most cases, each drawing is approved and published within 24 hours (working days from Monday to Friday). Please note that in case of a large number of submitted drawings, time needed for processing of applications may increase, so we recommend submitting the drawings timely - at least one day before the start of the public voting.

What to do if the password used to access the cabinet is forgotten?

• If one has forgotten the password used to access his/her cabinet, it is possible to restore it. Click on the text "Forgot password" and enter your e-mail address with which you registered in the system. You will receive a link in your email within a few minutes. Click on the link and create a new password with at least 6 characters, and enter it repeatedly. Click “Continue”, the password has been updated. Log in to the system with your email and the new password.

Are the winners of the contest determined only by public vote?

• No, according to the rules of the contest, 12 winners are determined in the contest in four different categories (age group 2 - 4 years, individual participation; 5 - 7 years, individual participation; 2 - 4 years, group participation, 5 - 7 years, group participation) in the public vote, 5 winners in the jury vote and one winner of the VENDEN sympathy award. In addition, 40 authors of drawings are awarded with letters of thanks for their artistic performance.

What is the evaluation system of the public vote?

• In the public vote, each drawing can be evaluated with 1 to 5 points, where 1 is the lowest possible assessment, and 5 is the highest one. The points obtained in the public vote are summed up, and the three drawings with the highest number of points in each of the categories will become the winners.

How can one vote?

• One can vote by authorizing on the website www.udensdiena.lv with his/her Facebook or Google account.

How often can one vote?

• You can vote for each drawing 1 time per day. You can vote for an unlimited number of drawings.

Is it allowed to invite others to vote on drawings?

• Yes, it is allowed to invite others to vote for drawings, but only voluntarily, without offering material or immaterial benefits. VENDEN reserves the right to temporarily suspend or completely stop voting for the specific drawing, if during the competition, dishonest behaviour is established, including attempts to buy votes or other actions with the aim of obtaining more votes in an unfair way.

How will the result of the public vote be determined?

• The result of the public vote will be determined by summing up the votes obtained. According to the rules of the competition, 12 winners (1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd place winners) will be determined in the public vote in four categories:

• age group 2 – 4 years, individual participation,
• age group 5 – 7 years, individual participation,
• age group 2 – 4 years, group participation,
• age group 5 – 7 years, group participation.

When will the winners be determined?

• The winners will be determined in accordance with the rules of the competition. Public voting and jury evaluation of the best drawings will take place between March 17 and 30, the winners will be announced on March 31 on the website www.udensdiena.lv and on VENDEN social networks.

Will the prizes be paid out in cash?

• Prizes will be purchased according to the wishes and needs of the educational institution - sports equipment or materials useful for learning, not exceeding the amount specified in the prize. Prizes won in the competition are not given in the form of money or gift cards.

Can one educational institution win awards in several categories?

• Each preschool educational institution or educational institution that implements preschool education programs has a chance to win one cash prize in each of the 4 public vote categories, the awards for artistic performance and the VENDEN sympathy award!

Will all authors of submitted drawings receive diplomas?

• Yes, diplomas will be sent to all authors of submitted drawings by post or courier. Therefore, please make sure that the information entered in the system about the child’s name and surname, as well as the institution’s address and contact phone number, is correct and accurate.

How the winners should act?

• Prizes for the educational institution will be prepared after the announcement of the winners, by agreeing with the institution on the necessary sports equipment and materials necessary for the learning process, but no later than May 30, 2023. If in a week after the announcement of the competition results, the competition organizers have not yet contacted the representative of the educational institution, please contact the competition organizers by e-mail udensdiena@venden.lv.
• To those authors of drawings who have received letters of thanks for their artistic performance, awards and letters of thanks will be sent until May 30, 2023. If the prizes have not yet been received after this date, and another date of receipt is not agreed upon, please contact the contest organizers by e-mail udensdiena@venden.lv.

What to do if there are objections to the actions of other participants?

• If you have any objections or suspicions about the dishonest behaviour of other participants, please contact the organizers of the competition by e-mail udensdiena@venden.lv.

What are the sanctions in case of violation of the competition rules?

• If a violation of the rules of the competition is detected, including attempts to buy votes or any other actions with the aim of obtaining more votes in an unfair way, VENDEN reserves the right to temporarily suspend or stop voting for the specific drawing altogether. Copyright and intellectual property rights affecting the competition, including the VENDEN trademark, are protected. Any offering of tangible or intangible assets without VENDEN’s permission will be considered an infringement of VENDEN’s rights.

How long should children’s drawings submitted to the competition be kept?

• Children’s drawings submitted to the competition must be kept by the educational institution at least until May 31, 2023. In the event that the specific work will be selected for marketing purposes, for example for the preparation of representative materials, the competition organizers will contact the work submitter - the representative of the educational institution.
